Volunteer MPS VISTAs work towards eradicating poverty by focusing on the following three areas in Minneapolis Public Schools and district programs:

  • Volunteer Program Development – develop and coordinate efforts that engage community volunteers in meeting school and student needs.

  • Community Partnership Development – build and strengthen partnerships
between the school and local businesses, nonprofit organizations, or other
community institutions to access resources (programs, funding sources, etc.)
    that support student achievement.

  • Youth Leadership & Service – develops and support opportunities for MPS
students to become more engaged and invested in their education through
    leadership and community service activities.
